HISTORY

2013
Helmut and Jeanette Kessler founded Manx Precision Optics on February 11th with production starting in October 2013.
2014
First major expansion of the workforce in February with MPO's second coating chamber arriving in April.
2015
Acquisition of third coating chamber to increase capacity.
2017
Floorspace expanded to include additional unit, consolidation of two sites (Sales, Finance and Production) into a single site
2018
Acquisition of fourth coating chamber -1.35m chamber with E-beam and IAD capability. Installation of new metrology to enable manufacture of spherical optics up to 205mm in diameter. Expansion of range to include large spherical objects. An additional mezzanine floor is installed in unit 12a.
2019
Expansion to Sales, Finance and R&D Departments, delivery of new 72” Lapmaster pitch polishing machine to allow full manufacture (polishing and coating) of optical components up to 500mm diameter. Launch of the new, extended range of optical components for ultrashort laser applications.
2021
MPO presents paper on a new theory about laser-induced damage in optical coating at the SPIE Laser Damage Symposium.
2022
Delivery and installation of an 18” Zygo interferometer
2023
Delivery of an additional polishing machine for large optics.
2024
Delivery of a new 56” grinder and new two-axis CNC machine.
